The Late-March Madness Give-Away Contest! The Prize? Fate/Stay Night: Saber (セイバー) action figure by Revoltech 2G. The figure is obviously open from the box and only used to take photos and displayed in a smoke-free house! I still have the box, but this figure giveaway won’t be complete because I’m a keeping her Invisible Aired Excalibur. She does come with the ultra magnificent Calibur sword as pictured above!!! Hey, it is free after all!

~ Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning ~

Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning | Square Enix starts their new Play Arts “Kai” edition with Final Fantasy XIII with more articulation and larger scale. Improved? Depends how you look at it. Lightning, FF13′s female protagonist, measures aaround 9″. The new joint additions to these updated versions are double hinged knees, ball and post shoulders, and 2 ball torso joints which will give you a wider range of movement. Unfortunately, as with the previous Play Arts action figures, some of the joints are loose and floopy even if they just came out of the box. The figure also suffers from production inconsistencies like plastic fringes on the hair from the mold and spotty painting. Check the figure before you buy, especially with it’s new suggested retail price of $40. So if you like the game or the series, it’s a no brainer that it’s a must have. I got mine at Image Anime.

Gurren Lagann: グレン&ラガン | It’s mecha time! Revoltech’s 58,724 version of the main Gunman of the series, Gurren and Lagann! The figure comes with an extra arm drills, a drill body and an alternate face for Lagann while Gurren has 3 extra sets of hands, boomerang/sword and standard Revoltech base. If you check the last photo, you’ll see who is up next!

Gurren Lagann: Yoko Littner — ヨーコ・リットナー | The figure is part of Revoltech’s Fräulein (German for “Young Lady“) series sculpted by Tomohide Enok. They are tad bigger scale than the regular series and about 6″ in height. It uses a combined Revoltech joint and a new E.L.F. joint system in which the figure has rotatable shoulder axes and curved lower pelvis for a more natural flow on the leg. It was a nice concept but ultimately the figure suffers a faster wear on the joints and becomes loose in no time, unlike the Revoltech Joints. Yoko comes with her Sniper Rifle, alternate face, alternate hair front with visors, 4 sets of hands plus 1 extra right hand so she can do her Asian “V” sign (ha!) and her stand.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha | Nanoha Takamachi — A figure based on the movie adaptation of the same series by Max Factory: Figma. It comes with the standard Figma articulation that allows for dynamic poses, 5 sets of hands, 2 faces with different (but not very distinct at an angle) expressions, 2 staffs, base stand and her trusty ferret, Yūno! Her skirt is not made out soft pvc so her leg movement is very limited. But if you like the series, get yours now! I got mine at Image Anime.
